Autumn Falls

The feast of Francis was celebrated in nature. Mass in Bucksport after which Rokpa, whose birthday is also October 4th, came into the church and was given a blessing by the priest as two Dominican sisters stood by.

(Domini canes, faithful watchdogs of God?) Rokpa bowed, profoundly, before and after the beatific instant of appreciation.

A mountain hike over Somes Sound, a canoe ride along Long Pond, driving back on Route 1 in clear darkness.

The hermitage settles into the release of nature back to earth. The yellow Ash leaves fall first. The gusts of last few days fell many others.

We converse, extend hospitality, sit zazen, and try to remain open to all that is presented to us.

October is a lovely time!

We are gifted with this seasonal reminder to trust the transformation.

Thank you!
